Money in Motion
ON BEHALF OF BANKERS
The ABA Education Foundation, on behalf of the banking industry, teamed up with Scholastic, the largest publisher of children's books, to produce Money in Motion. This program helps bankers reach directly into classrooms to educate young people in grades 7-12 about managing their finances. This program includes lessons and handouts that meet the following standards:
- Mathematics
- Social Studies
- Economics
- Financial Literacy
How You Can Be Involved
Here are some ways you can offer these lessons to educators in the communities you serve:
-
Download the Money in Motion lesson plans, activities and more.
-
Call, e-mail, or write a letter to teachers, principals and school officials to let them know about the Money in Motion materials -- direct them to Consumer Connection so they can use these valuable lessons in their own classrooms.
-
Offer to have someone from the bank speak to the class and co-teach a lesson.
-
Invite the class into the bank for a tour and to show them some of the services available.
-
Speak to a PTA group about the importance of financial education and how, on your behalf, your trade association has sponsored the Money in Motion program.
